I don’t recommend this mover. I used them in November of 2022.

Rude office staff, incompetent workers, great sales team to sucker you into using them.

From my email to them:

“Today was a lot more stressful than it needed to be. The guys who came, two of them were very nice but it really felt like they slowed things down. One of the guys was moving so slowly and was on the phone and not communicating with us so we had to get another guy to work with us. I got so upset I almost asked the gentleman who was ignoring me in my own home while packing my things to leave.

I feel like if you’re hiring people that don’t speak English (or are pretending to not speak English) how am I supposed to direct them on how to pack or unpack.

This whole experience was really frustrating and I feel ripped off

Your operations manager told me when they forgot some wardrobe boxes I specifically requested and that cost me more time in packing and unpacking that he could “get someone to me in 30 mins” (they took about 50 to deliver supplies for a later move to the truck) and I said it would be too late. He then told me he could get a helicopter to me in 5 minutes sarcastically. Literally why? So you guys bill me for more than I budgeted and give me poor service? Seriously? My clothes end up in trash bags? MyLouis Vuitton bags get crushed in a box? I am so mad!”

They sent me a claims link in a google doc that wouldn’t open and when I followed up for a new one they never responded.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $550

DONT HIRE THIS COMAPNY, IF THEY BREAK THEY DONT PAY.

This company is such a scam when it comes to refunding you for broken items. Their movers ended up breaking my 65 inch curve Samsung tv, and offered me a measely $107 dollar check that I will not be depositing. They have a stamp on the check that says upon cashing the check I'm releasing them of any liability. Well truth of the matter is I'm not releasing them of anything. I'm disappointed I called this company and was assured that they had the equipment to move a tv and they ended up breaking my tv that cost me $1,300 and change in 2017 or 2018. The process to acquire this upsetting check was 2 MONTHS and some weeks. Save you your items for a different company and don't use ameritex they don't refund you correctly.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $250

This review is well overdue since I moved 2 weeks ago, but better late than never. Ameritex Movers was amazing. The team was able to come to my place two hours earlier than expected and completed the job efficiently in 2 hours!

They did not complain even once, and when I attempted to help with the move they insisted that I don't worry about it. They had all of the additional packing supplies that I didn't have, and really made the entire moving process much more seamless than it generally can be.

I would definitely recommend Ameritex Movers for anyone's moving needs!

Service cost: $1570

Rude, careless, unprofessional, shady, careless. Damaged my furniture, brought my couch through wet paint after they were warned verbally and signage posted throughout apartment complex. The moving company has lied and refuses to take responsibility. They forged my signature on a liability form claiming I agreed that my stuff was all damaged before. When I went in person yesterday management continued to be rude and not take responsibility.

They continue to make up excuses not to reimburse me for damages. Management refused to give me owners information until yesterday she finally gave me a email. I emailed owner and have yet to hear back from her. Management also admitted they denied my claim because I originally disputed it with my credit card. So isn't that blackmail? A company refused to take responsibility because the customer followed protocol and made a dispute. They also try putting blame on my apartment complex and moving company who moved me into my storage back in January. They said since I used a moving company to move into my storage they cannot take responsibility for damages.

I asked the manager Ali so if I did not use movers prior to hiring your company than you would have taken responsibility? How does that make sense even after I told her I had 4 witnesses in addition to the 3 movers that will confirm my stuff was indeed NOT damaged when moving into my storage. This company is shady and it cost me $655 not including all the damages. They tried to say my dresser was already broken before they moved it knowing it was wrapped in shrink wrap so how would they have been able to see that when we didn't even see the damage until after we took shrink wrap off? Why didn't 3 movers notify me and bring it to my attention before the move? They lie and continue to lie. Do NOT use this company.

Service cost: $655

We have moved stuff from our 2 bedroom apartment in San Antonio to Sugarland, these guys did a pretty good job in packing my furniture with blankets and the shrink wrap. They have done the job in less time than expected. Have seen them organizing the stuff in truck and they did it pretty well. Crew was friendly and did everything as per our request. I am definitely going with them again.

Their prices were pretty and it completed in less price than expected.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1288

Our moving team did a wonderful job prepping all of our stuff and getting it moved into our new house. I observed that each person was being as careful as possible to ensure no damage occurred to our belongings or to either house as we were moving out and then in. There were a few minor scuffs on walls but, with the size and amount of heavy furniture and small spaces in which to maneuver it, that was to be expected and the movers appeared to be harder on themselves about it. They were friendly, focused and really put in a great effort. I definitely would recommend them and if we ever move again I’ll be giving them a call.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $637

I made plans to move from Westchase to Seabrook because of new job. I twisted my back prior to the move so I was no help whatsoever. A brief conversation with the movers was all it took before the magic started. They were amazing, and fast. They were working so hard I asked them to take a break .. They said OK, and then just kept right on packing me up. I bought a couch prior to the move and they swooped by and picked it up .. And Ameritex gained yet another customer.
Thanks for doing what you do, so we'll.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1500

TLDR; Worst service ever - DO NOT USE!! "Professional movers" are really just teenagers; was promised wardrobe boxes, but didn't get them, when I called main company to complain they wouldn't work with me, promised me a $50 refund, which I never got.

I hired them to move my family (husband, me, and newborn son) from our 2 bedroom apartment into our new house (Pasadena to La Porte, roughly 8 miles) since I was only 4 weeks post-c-section. One of the best selling points on their website and when I spoke to them to book my appointment was the wardrobe boxes for the hanging clothes.
Fast-forward to moving day: the "professional movers" that showed up were 2 - 18-year-old boys and a mid-20s guy. They proceed to load all the heavy furniture first (couch, bookcases, bed, TV stand, etc.), no problem..the 2 boys kept picking up random objects and playing with them though (I had an over-the-door pull up bar they spent a good 5 minutes playing with instead of moving my stuff).
So they've got all the big stuff loaded, and they're loading the boxes, and I asked them about the wardrobe boxes..they said they didn't have any. So now I'm really mad, because we didn't pack up any of the hanging clothes, specifically because I was guaranteed wardrobe boxes. And I've got my 60 y.o. mother and my 4-week-old son with me and now no way to move all these clothes.
So I call the main number while we're on our way to the new house, because again, the guys loading my stuff have said there are no wardrobe boxes and they've loaded up everything else and insist on leaving to go unload at the house. The lady who answered said they had wardrobe boxes on the truck, and they're supposed to load that first..well that's not what the guys told me, they said they didn't have wardrobe boxes. She insists they're on the truck, and says because they were on the truck, it was somehow MY responsibility to ensure they got used!?!?! So we go back and forth for awhile, I'm telling her the guys lied to me and refused to use the wardrobe boxes, she's telling me they had them and they should have used them..blah, blah, blah. In the end, she said there was nothing they could do, so I asked to speak to her manager. Manager gives me the same BS runaround..so now I've been lied to and cheated, and my 60-year-old mother had to load all our clothes into my car and her car, and drive them to the new house.
I called again once the baby was settled and spoke to another manager who said they could give me a $50 refund..on an over $450 service!! I never did get that check and when I called to ask about it they said they never promised me any portion of a refund.
Worst company ever. Never use. Horrible service.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $600

Don't use!! This company is a rip off. I was told there would be a $600.00 trip fee. Ok. That sounded reasonable to travel from Houston to Austin and bsck to Houston. No!! The $600 fee was only one way. I had to pay $125 an hour for the driver to drive from Austin to Houston and it took him over 4 hours. Me and my husband made it in 3 hours after stopping to get gas and use the restroom. The office people kept telling me that they told me that in the beginning. They did not! Whem I complained, they kept saying 'we told you the $600 trip charge was only one way' which makes no sense at all. A trip charge should be just that..travel time. Then they said if I refuse to pay it would be theft of services. On top of that, they didn't have enough room for all my things and we had to move some things in my husband's truck and those things got rained on. On top of that, the driver showed up at the storage unit in Houston with an extra helper. No winder it took him so long, he was teaveling in Houston during rush hour traffic to go pick up another person. Do not use. Worst office people ever. Will not work with you at all. I'm contacting an attorney.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1735

These guys kicked butt. Alex and Ron arrived right on time and hustled for 8 hours moving us from an apartment to a condo, plus two trips to a storage facility. Our complicated move included an upright piano, that I witnessed these gentlemen pick up and carry like it was weightless. They took care with furniture placement and every detail. I feel lile I really lucked out finding them, and am hiring them again next weekend for a goodwill and dump run. They are full service. Best of all, extremely competitive rates. Do not hesitate go with Ameritex, truly professional.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2850

They helped me move into 5th floor walk up apt, after several moving companies turned me down. Form beginning to end they were very punctual and well communicative giving me regular updates throughout the day about their exact arrival time (which was within the window they gave me). They were also very nice and a pleasure to work with throughout the whole process, not to mention quick! Price was the best of all the companies I spoke to.

I will definitely be calling them again for my next move, and highly recommend them to all my friends and family!

After talking to too many none sense moving companies, I finally talked to someone from Ameritex and I could immediately tell that this company is serious and professional.

After a reasonable quote, we have decided to work together.

From there, the company sent the documents for me and the landlord, all was clear and set up.

The day of the move, 2 very nice and pro guys arrived and ready to move my stuff. They were super careful with the breakables, very organized and fast.

The movers had quite of a drive and moved all back in the new place, rebuild the bed frame and all was smooth and perfect.

The price and the professionalism of the company is a go-to.

I highly recommend them.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $880

“Stress free move” this has been the worst most stressful move to date . The move is scheduled for 2-5 pm .they call at 9:30 to say they are on their way . I call the office stressed out cause they can’t come early cause I don’t have the elevator reserved till 2-5 as clearly stated when I made the reservation . Ok so then they agree on 1 pm and I say ok again on the unload part we don’t have the elevator till 2-5. They text that they are coming at 12:30 pm again to early . I tell them they have to wait till 1 . Takes 20 minutes to load and now we are super early and have to wait for the dock off the clock. It’s 2 they get it unloaded and I go to pay of which I already paid a $50 deposit on . They charge me the 2 hour minimum of $250 . Well they refused to apply my $50 deposit and told me that was a trip & truck fee. Total deception calling it a deposit .

I will never we recommend them or use them ever again. So I paid $300 for 45 minutes of a move . Stay away unless you want to get ripped off.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $300

The crew worked hard but broke a leg on the couch, several rips in a leather king headboard, broke the kid's dinosaur lamp, scratched two drawers on the jewelry armoire and broke one of the legs, destroyed our fireplace/entertainment

center ( had to be trashed-gouged and fell apart beyond repair, chipped the corners on two bedside stands, and several gouges in the two coat racks. Yes we had their insurance but it does not cover any fiberboard parts of furniture with some fiberboard parts. They pay by the pound for the other things. So we got $240. for all the damages. Not enough to replace anything but the lamp with some left over.

The part about the fiberboard parts is in the tiniest of print that I couldn't read when I signed because I didn't have my glasses. (I am a senior) . The insurance process is difficult -

they want pictures, receipts, weight and dimensions of all the items, They do not pay replacement value. They will only accept a written letter - no phone calls or emails. Pictures must be clear.Took several weeks. Price was 50% over the estimate and had to be continued the next evening as their truck was too small.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $1850

This was the most worst and stressful moving company there is. They gave me a window time 8-3 and said don’t worry, we will call you with a shorter window the day before your move. They called me the day before my move was scheduled. They gave me a shorter window 8am-11am. Everything seemed fine until the actual day of the move. The day of the move 10:13am came I was worried, so I called 3 times no answer I called again, They advised me that the arrival time will be 50 minutes. (That was past my window time)

I really needed to move this day and obviously I could not go with another moving company at the time. 50 minutes passed by. I received a text that said your driver will arrive in 62 minutes (yes this was after the 50 minutes) the actual arrival time was 2:36pm (absolute worst)

Yes 2:36pm. So now let’s get into the Move: They knocked my thermostat off the wall so hard, it fell downstairs. I asked what happened and they stated they didn’t know, no one knew. They end up dropping my dryer outside in my driveway on the ground from the truck. I ask what happened, they didn’t know. When it happened they looked around to see if anyone was looking. I have ring video and he captured the whole thing. I tried to report it soon as it happened ( of course there was no answer) before they arrived they told me that they do not unplug or plug any appliances. So when the dryer fell They asked if I wanted to have them plug it to see if it work. We are already on a time schedule for them to unwrap the dryer bring it all the way back in the house and plug it up imagine the time. Then I advised them I was told that you didn’t even plug up any appliances. They just looked at me. I told them to put it in the truck I will be making a report to their boss. Now on to the location, I confirmed they had the correct address, they asked did I want to follow them or they follow me. I said I will follow them. I started following them, they were going the wrong way (kept adding time) I had to get in front of them and tell them to follow me instead. Then after unloading everything to the storage, I called their boss again to report the dropped dryer. They said I need to take photos of the damaged ( remind you the washer & dryer was the first thing to be placed in the storage) I said I have the entire video when it was dropped. They wanted pictures. I’m getting my house built I didn’t plan on taking anything out the storage for 6 months. Long story short The moving company name was stress free Movers this has been the worst and stressful move ever, needless to say I will never use them again from my move to the new house they will not be getting my service. The cost was over 1000$. I ordered 3 men and a truck. The completion time was around 11:40 PM. So 2:36 PM till 11:40 PM (9hours) I had something planned this day, since I was told the window was 8-11a. They showed up 3hrs later. All they had to move was to 2 Bedroom sets,1 living room set, washer and dryer, 1 treadmill and boxes.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1125

This company is anything but “stress move experience”. The crew showed up with a truck way too small and did not speak English. They did not respect our requests to load the truck in a way to protect our itens, and complained about us to their supervisor. Our rugs got to our new house all vender and full of uneven surface, our kitchen items broke, our furniture was severely damaged, and our new house got dents on the walls and baseboards they even damaged our brand new refrigerator that was installed on the same day by another crew. Their supervisor called us due to his crew complaints about us and did not take our side of the story. They did not offer a second trip to pick up the other items that did not fit in the truck that was way too small and not properly loaded to optimize space. They even treated us like their were doing us a favor and were very disrespectful when speaking to us. No refund has ever been offered for all the headaches and damage caused us, regardless of our complaints. Please do yourselves a favor and never hire these guys.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $1450

Stress-free move? More like move-free move! We booked them for Sunday and despite three calls confirming our move date, they didn't show up on Sunday. In the morning, when they were 3 hours late, someone in the office assured us they would be there within the 7 hour window we were given. We woke up early to wait around all day without a call that they were going to be late or cancel. After noon nobody even answered at the office. Nobody ever showed up. On Monday they tried to re-schedule and kept lying to us about when they would be there. Eventually they showed up at 4:15pm Monday, 30 hours late. Movers themselves were good, but the customer service could not have been worse.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $400

The opposite of a stress free move. The movers accidentally knocked our sofa into the wall, leaving a (4"x4") hole in the sheetrock wall. It was a mistake they made - not a big deal in and of itself, but the company's response has been atrocious. It cost me $700 to get the hole fixed, so I filed a claim with Ameritex to get refunded and sent them the receipt. They told me it was not covered by their policy and sent me a check for $100 instead. Very disappointing that they would not cover something that was clearly a mistake on their end. Would never use these guys again. If they accidentally knock into your garage or damage your house in any way you will be responsible for the damages! Would think twice if you are going to use them, if you can afford to cover for their mistakes. I had a small move, so the $700 I had to pay to get the wall fixed nearly doubled the price of my move. They could have kept me as a customer by reimbursing me for their mistake, instead they have lost a customer for life.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1000

Have used Ameritex Movers twice. Both times major issues. The first time I moved across the country with all my furniture, cats, plants in a uhaul. I had a scheduled date & time for them to unload my uhaul. They cancelled which caused me to have to get a hotel. It was very challenging b/c of the plants & cats. When they finally did come the entire move only took them 90mins and the team was great. I decided I would use them again for the next move. I requested to have that same team of people, but that did not happen, eventhough they said I would. On 1.17.22 they were scheduled to be there for 2-7pm. I waited all day then at 7:15 they arrived. It was not the same team. When the crew arrived the leader reprimanded me for not having all my things packed. I hired them to move and pack. I had already moved a majority of the boxes myself so I knew this was going to be an easy job. They did not bring the proper tools to pack & instead used my sheets by tying them together & wrapping up my clothing. I had to cut my sheets to get my clothes. There was really not that much stuff. I have no idea what took them so long to get to my new house. They arrived to my new house very late & I noticed I was missing 1 large planter that is 12ft tall. I contacted the company several times & was told the manager would contact me, but no one did. When I went to my old apartment I noticed they never packed up anything in the kitchen. All the doors were wide open. They ransacked my fridge and they threw bottles and cans all over my living room. A/C was blasting and all the lights were on. They didn't finish packing up the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom our 1st patio. I had to rent a uahaul and finish the move myself. When I finally got all the unpacking done I noticed that I was missing several items: a playstation with 2 controllers, 6 games, 3 large paintings. I was charged 943.75 this time & last time only 300. Manager never contacted me. The employees are thiefs. The person I spoke to told me I was supposed to stay and watch their employees and honestly I gladly would have if they starts during the time they had said. I have a child with special needs who needs medication at 8am & 8pm. If they would have told me in advance I could have hired a sitter, but leaving me no other choice I had to leave to take care of my child. Regardless, why have a team of employees who cannot be trusted?

Move size: Studio Service cost: $945

We have used Ameritex Movers three times since moving down to Texas in 2019. The first two times they were great. This last time in February 2022 they were horrible. A crew of four men showed up to move us from a one bedroom apartment to another one bedroom apartment one floor down in the same building. They came and moved us like "bats out of hell" and in the process severely scratched one of our bedroom nightstands. We noticed the damage after they left. We took pictures, researcher the value of the nightstand (bought in NJ from Macy's) and submitted everything along with the requested paper to Ameritex. The claim was denied and no reimbursement of the damage was made. Shame on Ameritex. You had a valued customer who used your service multiple times and you choose to turn and look the other way. A modest monetary credit and an apology would have gone a long way. We will never use your services again. Buyer beware.
